Julius II, the pope in charge,
on his left Giovanni de' Medici, future Leo X,
next to which is the cousin, Giulio de' Medici,
or Pope Clement VII, behind which
in the background is Cardinal Bernardo Dovizi da Bibbiena,
a great admirer of Raphael,
while Cardinal Alessandro Farnese,
who became pope with the name of Paul III,
is portrayed on the right of Julius II. |
