SANTA MARIA IN DOMNICA

The mosaics of the apse and the triumphal arch date back to the time of Pope Paschal I (817-824).

In the apse we see the Virgin surrounded by angels at his feet Pope Paschal, the head surrounded by the nimbus, which means that when the mosaic was done he was still alive.

In the upper section of the triumphal arch the Redeemer is depicted among the apostles.

The great figures below represent Moses and Elijah.
