The center of Martina Franca is XX September Square: here is the municipal park.

In the opposite side of the park, the S. Antonio arch stands out (1763); it is dominated by the S. Martino's statue. By tradition S. Martino appared here to free the town from Maramaldo's troops.

You' re now going through Vittorio Emanuele main street and you can see the collegiate church of S. Martino. It was built between 1747-1763 by the archpriest Isidoro Chirulli and in 1775 the church was consacrated.

In 1998 it became a " Basilica " for Giovanni Paolo II Pope's will.

Walkin' on the streets of Martina Franca you will also see many palaces of baroque look : Fanelli Palace, Magli Palace, Blasi Palace, Motolese Palace, Maggi Palace.

At the end of Immaculate Mary Square there is the Umbert King street that leads to the S. Domenico's Church.
